Six men arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a Lindley farm family in the Free State this week will appear in court on murder charges, provincial police said today.
Colonel Motantsi Makhele said all the men would appear in the Lindley Magistrates Court on Monday facing murder charges.
Attie Potgieter, his wife Wilma and their daughter Willemien (3) were found murdered on their farm on Thursday morning.
It seemed Potgieter was stabbed, while his wife and daughter were shot.
An investigating team consisting of members attached to Organised Crime, Crime Intelligence and Visible Policing, took the men in for questioning late on Thursday.
At the time police also found a firearm, but its owner could not be verified, and the bank cards belonging to 40-year-old Potgieter.
Three of the suspects were found on the farm, while another three were picked up in the town of Lindley.
Most of these suspects are in their early twenties.
Various civil groups, political parties and farming organisations have condemned the killings.
