Four men were sentenced to a collective 61 years in prison for the robbery, rape and attempted murder of a Benoni woman, Gauteng police said today.
“Baloyi Samuel Elvis (37) was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. Mogoboyo Joel (23) was sentenced to 14 years, Raditapola Seith (35) was sentenced to 20 years and Malatjie Vincent (27) was sentenced to seven years imprisonment,” said Captain Pinky Tsinyane.
The incident happened in February last year while the men were working as builders, renovating the woman’s house.
Their sentence was handed down in the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
The judge also ruled that the men were not eligible for parole and no leave for appeal was granted.
