Free train rides for Gauteng World Cup ticket holders

Valid Fifa World Cup ticket holders in Gauteng will be able to use

Metrorail train services for free to get to stadiums and secure parking

facilities, the Passenger Rail Agency of SA (Prasa) said today.

Metrorial is ready to transport ticket holders, free of charge,

starting with the opening match this afternoon at Soccer City Stadium in Nasrec,

spokeswoman Nana Zenani said in a statement.

“The boarding of our special 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup trains will

take place on platform 11 and 12 at Park Station with passengers dropped-off at

our newly refurbished Nasrec Station situated within five minutes from Soccer

City,” she said.

Passengers are urged to be aware of departure times to and from the

games and to contact the Metrorail customer care service on 0800 12 7070.
