Guptagate: unanswered questions

Erika Gibson, military writer at City Press’ sister paper Beeld, identified these unanswered questions about the Guptas’ use of Air Force Base Waterkloof to fly in wedding guests.

» When was permission sought if the Indian High Commission only sent a diplomatic note to the department of international relations and cooperation the day before yesterday?

» Who gave permission to land?

» Why was Waterkloof chosen over OR Tambo, Lanseria and Pilanesberg?

» Were all the necessary permits obtained?

» Who pays for refuelling?

» Have the passengers’ passports been stamped or are they in the country illegally?

» Who pays for security for the aircraft at Waterkloof?

» Did the Guptas pay aircraft landing fees?
