KZN woman arrested after conspiring to kill her father

A woman was arrested for allegedly conspiring to kill her father in Pomeroy, KwaZulu-Natal police said today.

“It is alleged that the 20-year-old woman hired two men to kill her father and promised to pay them R8 000 in return,” said Colonel Jay Naicker.
The hit men informed police of the plan and the woman was arrested yesterday.

“The two hit men set a trap for the woman and informed her that her father was killed. She gave them a cheque that she had defrauded from the school she works at.”

The woman was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and inducing another to commit an offence, as well as fraud.

Police seized the cheque and two cellphones.

The suspect would appear in the Umsinga Magistrate’s Court.
