The Nelson Mandela Bridge in Johannesburg would be closed for the next nine days in order to do maintenance work, the city’s metro police said today.
“The bridge has been blocked off since 8am this morning [Saturday] by a construction company for maintenance work that needs to be done to the structure,” said Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.
“It will remain closed until November 14.”
He urged motorists to use Queen Elizabeth bridge and Biccard Street as alternative roots.
