Seven die in Libyan protests – medical official

Tripoli – Seven people were killed in the Libyan city of Benghazi yesterday in clashes between security forces and anti-regime protesters, said a medical official.

“Seven protesters were killed in the demonstrations yesterday at Benghazi,” said the medical official, who requested anonymity.

Shortly after, the newspaper Quryna, which is close to the son of Libyan leader Muammar Gadaffi, reported the same death toll, citing a security official.
