Cape Town-born Lesley-Ann Brandt, who recently starred in hit fantasy series Spartacus , will feature in a high-budget premium new series for the Universal Channel (DStv 117) called The Librarians.
The Librarians will star Falling Skies actor Noah Wyle as the stalwart of a century-old headquarters located underneath the world-famous Metropolitan Library. Here scholars and adventurers investigate the bizarre, collect dangerous artifacts and save the world from supernatural events. Alongside him will be Rebecca Romijn (X-Men), who plays Noah's Guardian, Colonel Eve Baird.
Our very own Brandt will play Lamia, a skilled assassin for an evil organisation called the Serpent Brotherhood. She is described as "equal parts alluring and lethal, and enjoys making her kills personal".
Brandt performs all her own stunts in the series, and says her training during "Gladiator camp" during the filming of Spartacus really helped her.
Brandt's family emigrated to New Zealand when she was young, which is where she started acting. She has starred in many series including Chuck and CSI:NY , and now lives in Los Angeles.
She will appear in upcoming episodes of the much-lauded hit series Gotham.
* The Librarians will air on December 8, 8.50pm on the Universal Channel, only 24hours after the US screening.
