A teenage boy has been convicted of the murder of a farming couple in Limpopo after pleading guilty.
Beeld reported today that the 16-year-old pleaded guilty yesterday to the murders of Will (69) and Anje Kiesling (66) as well as the theft of a gun, two cellphones and the couple’s bakkie.
He appeared before Magistrate Gerhard Pretorius in the Mokopane Magistrates’ Court.
The proceedings were held behind closed doors because the boy is a minor. He is expected to be sentenced on January 7.
The boy was arrested at his guardian’s house in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, in March.
He initially appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrates’ Court but the matter was transferred to Mokopane because the bodies of the couple were discovered on their farm near Lephalale, Limpopo.
Police found the bodies after the couple’s relatives had been unable to contact them.
