Teen killed in shebeen fight

A 17-year-old youth was stabbed to death during a fight at a shebeen in Magxaki Informal Settlement, in Butterworth.

Last night around 9.30pm, the youth and a 20-year-old man had an argument, which ended with the youth being stabbed in the chest, Eastern Cape police Captain Jackson Manatha said today.

The 20-year-old was arrested and the knife allegedly used in the attack was recovered.

The man would appear in Butterworth Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
