I am appalled at how some people have reacted to the sad news about the passing of Orlando Pirates and Bafana goalkeeper, and the captain of both teams, on social networks in recent days.
People are so mean and are turning a blind eye to the real issues.
How can they blame singer Kelly Khumalo for Senzo Meyiwa’s death? He was in love with her and she is the mother of his child. We can’t be judgemental in a case like this.
We all need to comfort both families on the sudden loss of their loved one, and support them. We should not hurt them further by what we say on social platforms.
It is at times like these that we should be united as a nation in raising our voices against crime and give support to the affected families. We should stop stooping so low.
Khumalo’s child has lost a father and she has lost a lover. Meyiwa’s family has lost a son and the soccer fraternity has lost an asset.
In line with the spirit of ubuntu, we share and feel the grief in the loss of your loved one. May you find comfort in the Lord since he is the one who has given and has taken away.
May Meyiwa’s soul rest in peace.
