Election tension in the United States is likely to continue for a long time even after the counting process is done with, writes John Matisonn. 

What Americans saw in its election mirror was a nation divided more deeply than ever. They may defeat President Donald Trump, but Trumpism lives on.

A final count will be delayed by court actions and recounts, but most experts expected former Vice President Joe Biden to end up the president-elect. But Biden’s deeply disappointed followers will have to contend with an obstructionist Senate likely to block his efforts to initiate his era of peace and cooperation in Washington.
