A businessman has allegedly been abducted from his office in Silversands on Thursday (23 March).

According to Mfuleni police, 27-year-old Muneeb Ismail was in the office of Silversands Motor Spares when he was abducted between 11:00 and 13:00.

Muneeb's sister, Shubnam Soeker, told to TygerBurger that her brother was taken by three armed men and taken away in a white Mercedes-Benz.

Soeker says the family is devastated.

"We never thought that this would happen to our family," she says.

According to her, they haven't heard from the kidnappers yet and they are asking the community to keep their family in their prayers.

While TygerBurger was on the scene, police were still inspecting the area and yellow police tape was a solemn reminder of what transpired there earlier today.

Groups of family and friends were standing around.

According to messages on social media, Ismail was wearing a black K-Way jacket at the time of his abduction.

A video clip released by the police shows the moment Ismail is being kidnapped.

  • Anyone with information is urged to phone Mahmoed Ismail on 072 958 7631.
