Gogo would prepare us for church service, put Vaseline on us and walk us through the dusty roads while the sun was shining bright over our faces. She took us on a journey to the House of God so we could give Him thanks and to listen to the word of the Lord. She raised her children and grand-children up to be honorable, dignified and true to the path of God. Gogo taught us to never lose sight of the right way.
Gogo gave it her all and instilled Christ-like values in all of her children. But there was one child named Lesaoana Samuel Caleb Makhanda who was stubborn, selfish, and self-righteous to a fault. He had a love for money, and made money his stronghold instead of God.
No matter how hard Gogo struggled for her son or how much she gave her son, to him it wasn’t enough. She tried to show him the blessings of family but he didn't see it and didn't care to. Family meant nothing to him if it didn't come with big money. She kept warning him about his greed but she just couldn't get through to him. He didn't see that Gogo was a true Seer who could see his future and he didn't listen to any of her wise counsels because he thought he knew better than his mother.
He chose to abandon the instructions of his mother, and no longer keep the customs and recognition of the Ancestors and his family. For this reason, there has been a great deal of anger and indifference by the Ancestors because of his selfish ways and his need to be self-important. As a result, they are thrashing him around until he finds the right way and walks the true path. They require him to turn away from the crooked path, and want him to honor his family members on this earth plane and in the spirit plane.
Our Great-Grandmother Anna Makhanda from the spiritual realm spoke to us about our Grandfather, Bishop Lesaoana Makhanda. She came forward reluctantly to say that her son took a different path from the true one that she showed and therefore he has been led astray ever since. He followed a path void of spirituality and biblical teachings and went for a doctrine that only concerns itself with materialism- storing up riches and wealth-for selfish gains.
Gogo Anna Makhanda says, 'she raised him to be a true man and he’s defaulting, not a fault of her own. She feels there is a great deal of help that he can provide to others. He is gifted to help other people but he needs to do it in the name of God.
Lesaoana Makhanda was supposed to initiate as a Sangoma, and is a gifted Medicine Man because his ancestors are gifted with those things, but he has been taken in a direction which is alien to him and which he has adopted innately as his own.
She doesn't care that he is earning a living. What she cares about is the integrity and the principles, and she is concerned about the abandonment of the children [Quinn and Fabian Makhanda] in the process.
Apparently, she says, he is supposed to be responsible for his children and family, but that he’s so caught up in himself that his children are falling by the wayside and his grandchildren the same. This is not a blessing. God blesses those who accept and receive Him. God grants blessings, and that is the blessing of children. If you cannot honor the blessing of children, you are nothing in the face of God.’
