The story: Cricket South Africa, on a stamina-examining Sunday of high drama to match that of a nerve-jangling Test match, hauled itself off the ropes to find a way out – or at least trigger the crucial beginnings thereof – from one its potentially worst ever crises.

What happened: After beginning talks around 10:00, the embattled body issued a statement from Johannesburg at 23:35, revealing that "agreement has been reached on all outstanding issues" between the Members’ Council and Interim Board related to amending the Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI).

The statement said: "This agreement will now trigger an expedited process to adopt the MOI in terms of the Companies Act (s60) within 48 hours."
