President Cyril Ramaphosa
President Cyril Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa's Cabinet had some rough waters to steer the country through in the past year.

From the unrests in July following former president Jacob Zuma's arrest, to increased load shedding, Covid-19 and controversial municipal elections – it certainly was no easy task. Were Ramaphosa, Deputy President David Mabuza and the 28 ministers in Cabinet up for it?

Judging by our Cabinet ratings – put together by journalists and editors who have closely followed the individual ministers over the course of the year – not really.

See all the Cabinet ratings here.

But we want to know what you think. Who were we too generous with? Who should've failed but was given a pass? And who did we undervalue?

Using the below ratings key, tell us in the comments section of this article which scores you would've given.

1. Dismally failed. Should not be in Cabinet

2. Poor performance. Why are they not yet fired?

3. Does the bare minimum

4. Some targets achieved but far from satisfactory

5. Performance targets met

6. Satisfactory

7. Gets the job done. Room for improvement

8. Excels in performance

9. Outstanding work

10. Should be president
