Top police brass will appear before Parliament next month to explain why Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) detective Charl Kinnear died without protection, and what action has been taken against high-ranking officers who were warned of a threat to his life.

The reckoning was affected by Kinnear's widow, Nicolette, who petitioned Parliament's portfolio committee on police in her quest for answers.
