FEVER newspapers aught up with Chef Sabelo
Mngomezulu to find out a little more about him
and what it takes to be the best of the best.

KN: Share a bit about your background with our
readers.

SM: I am from Ingwavuma, on the northern side of Zululand. I grew up as a child with soccer skills and was respected by my school mates and even my community.

KN: Please take me through your journey to becoming a chef.

SM: I started as a griller in one of the restaurants in Fourways. The executive chef of that restaurant noticed that I love my job. He paid for me to go to culinary school. After my chef graduation and training, they gave me a recommendation letter and said that any company that hired me would not regret it, as I was good at my job.

KN: Give me one word to describe yourself.

SM: Team-player.

KN: What are your other hobbies?

SM: Playing chess and watching cricket.

KN: What is your favourite dish?

SM: Seafood paella.

KN: Where are you now employed and why should people visit your restaurant?

SM: I work at Billy G in Suncoast and people should visit our restaurant because we offer quality, tasty, affordable and fresh food every day.

KN: What is different about Billy G?

SM: We have a signature dish every day.

KN: A message for prospective customers?

SM: Come in to Billy G, we are sure to tantalise your taste buds. We love and respect all our customers.
