HERB expert, Marie Bowker sent in this easy dinner recipe.
500 gram beef strips
2 Tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon garlic and ginger paste
3 chopped spring onions
60 ml soya sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
1 teaspoon Hoison sauce (optional)
4 finely chopped fresh basil leaves (optional)
Use a half a cup of any three of the following - sliced mushrooms, snow peas, baby corn, small broccoli florets, cucumber sticks, thin carrot sticks, bean sprouts, fine strips of green pepper, finely sliced cabbage, fresh pineapple cubes.
Heat the oil in a wok or heavy frying pan.
Add the beef and carrot sticks (if using), stir-fry for four minutes.
Stir through the garlic and ginger paste.
Add sesame oil, Hoison sauce and spring onions, stir-fry for two minutes.
Add vegetables of your choice, plus chopped basil leaves (if using) mix through, stir-fry for three minutes.
Add soya sauce, mix through and cook for further four minutes.
Serve on a bed of rice or with Chinese noodles.
