Bafana United Football Club remains second in the log despite thrashing the log leaders, Mahlangu Stars Football Club, in Khayelitsha on Saturday 15 August.

The two teams are leading the pack in the Mandela Park Local Football Association with nine games to play.

United beat Stars by four goals to nil in a very intense game. The two sides are now only seperated by two points.

United coach, Kuna Skiti, said they lost the first leg game against Stars but their form has been improving and they knew what they had to do to win the game.

“We were ready for them. We wanted to play our passing game and it worked for us. We also know that they like playing long passes because of their tall strikers and we had to counter that,” he said.

He said he does not want to put pressure on him and his players by saying they want to win the league and they will take one game at a time. The winner of the league will play winners from other LFA’s to get promoted to the SAB League.
