The Watergate Centre in Mitchells Plainwas the venue for the first Silulo Business Breakfast Networking Session this year.

It was held on Saturday and the aim was to introduce a platform where entrepreneurs from all types of industries are able to connect, share their journeys as well as find ways to grow and possibly work together in an environment where essential business models are discussed.

Founder Luvuyo Rani said: “This is the first of many networking sessions.

“Our plan is to have at least two sessions a month where we discuss different business models in more detail.”

The first session was a great success which shows that there is a demand for this type of mentorship.

SBI has a long-term vision of all entrepreneurs being able to not only grow their businesses but to also retain them and stay in operation.

With 14 years of business experience, Rani is the perfect mentor and leader for this platformas an entrepreneur.

His business has grown to 42 branches here and in the Eastern Cape and countless awards behind the name.

Businessman Ayabulela Mlungwana added: “It is a pleasure to have attended the session, I learned that if you have a vision and your belief system is strong, it doesn’t matter who says what .

“ Partnerships are very vital and system processes in place so that the business maintains and sustains itself.”

Entrepreneurs were advised to take advantage of the mentorship opportunity by becoming members of the SBI Breakfast Networking Sessions.

By 2017, it was revealed that Silulo had trained a total of 35 000 since its inception. It has trained 65 students through MIC SETA in both the Eastern and Western Cape.

Rani and his two directors remodelled the business in 2017 by offering a walk in cellphone repair service at one of the Silulo branches in Khayelitsha.

Rani, who was part of the Team South Africa to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland in 2018, has received numerous accolades for his social impact business.

He was also awarded a Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2016 among his many accolades.
