Often times I hear people saying talk is cheap, but doing things practically is a completely different game.
I have also come to the conclussion that nothing is impossible.
To know something and think about it then come to a sound conclusion is what works.
Its not easy but it can be done. True knowledge is never based on emotions, rather investigate the veracity of the facts in front of you.
Generations of children in primary schools have been taught the true or false drill, which does not help their intellectual growth.
Children should be exposed to questions that challenge their intellectual capabilities. I once overheard a discussion between elders about the drug problem in our streets and the only solution they came up with was that those kids should be killed because they robbed people and stole from households.
That was nowhere nearer to solving our problems. It was tantamount to saying lets remove the trees by cutting the branches.
The problem is deeper than that.
We should first eliminate the manufacturers, the dealers and the need to use drugs will, in turn, be eliminated.
Killing the children does not make the problem go away.
Their challenges have to do with the peer pressure phenomenon.
We cannot solve a problem by applying the same mentality which was used to create it.
As parents we should encourage our kids when they go to school to learn to think.
The problems we are facing today can only be solved by people who can think.
