We all want to change especially at the beginning of a brand new year.
We make resolutions. We tell ourselves we are going to be a brand new person. I’m going to lose weight. I’ll stop smoking.
These are popular ones. There are others that are personal. But they are all pointing to one thing: wanting to be better. But it isn’t that easy. We do not change. We remain the same.
It is like a game. Something that you play each brand New Year because everyone is doing it. If you don’t make it, it doesn’t matter. You do want to make it. But you don’t.
Why is that so? Is it because we are the cause? Of course we are. We say a thought is a cause. If you reckon you are a thought then you are the cause. Which sounds abstract, but isn’t.
It is all part of the process. We don’t make it because we are up against a formidable enemy: your subconscious mind.
So many things have been stored in that mind. False beliefs. Opinions. Impressions. And they have become your belief system. You come against them; you will have to put up a good fight. They are not going to let you have it your way. There will have to be a fight. I mention a fight because it is a fight. Most of us do not succeed. We become the same person until we die. “Why am I a loser?” “Why don’t I make it like others?” “What is wrong with me?” What is wrong with you is what is in that storehouse. If you can remove that it does not mean you’ve won. You’ve to put in something new in its place.
Something that will make you different from the old you. Because you want to be different. You want to be another person. Another person that is different from the previous you. A person that is more optimistic. A person that is slim and beautiful. A person that does not sit back and say, “Okay, there’s nothing I can do.” But a person that comes out guns blazing. When people see you become amazed. And wonder what happened to you. Most of us don’t achieve that. We go back to our old self because we can’t stand the enemies in the storehouse. They are too powerful for us.
We allow them to dominate us and conquer us. This is what we have to face up to. We’ve got to fight. The question is; can we do it? You know what you want. But between you and what you want is the storehouse. How can we blast our way through it? Stay positive.
