THE Golden Sun Food Zone in Tongaat celebrated their 10 year anniversary with the giveaway of several prizes including a car on Sunday.

One of the owners Yasheen Maharaj said Golden Sun Food Zone wanted to thank their loyal customers for their support over the years and from October 2015 entries for the win a car competition began.

"Customers had to buy to the value of R250 or more to qualify for entry into the competition," said Yasheen. "We had 25 000 entries from the customers of Golden Sun."

A draw was held prior to the main draw where 20 customers were selected and where each given a chance to pop a balloon.

"We had 20 balloons and each balloon had either a prize or 1 of 5 keys," said Yasheen. "Only one key was real and the others were dummy keys."

Each contestant who got a key after popping their balloons were given a chance to try and unlock the car.

The car was eventually won by 26-year-old Wayne Nundalal from Gandhi's Hill.

"I'm very excited. I can't believe I won the car," said Nundalal.
"I want to thank Golden Sun for this chance to win the car and I'm very grateful for this opportunity."

Yasheen’s brother and other owner of Golden Sun Shivendh Maharaj thanked all customers for attending the draw where meals and refreshments were also provided to celebrate the milestone.

"We wanted to do something good for the community to say thank for their loyal support through the years," said Shivendh.
