VERULAM SAPS arrested two drug dealers after a drug bust in Trenance Park at the weekend.
The two dealers, aged 50 and 35, were charged for possession and dealing of illegal substances.
Verulam SAPS communications officer Lieutenant Mark Prakasim said the 50-year-old suspect was arrested with 12 mandrax tablets and has made an appearance at the Verulam Magistrate’s court where he was released on bail.
“The 35-year-old Indian male was arrested with 49 grams of loose dagga also at Trenance Park and was released on a fine,” said Prakasim.
Prakasim said more random operations are going to be conducted in the community to clamp down on drugs and drug dealers in the Verulam area.
“Each week we are randomly targeting a different area in order to put pressure on the drug trade,” said Prakasim.
Prakasim urged the community to come forward with information on drug dealers and contact him directly on 082 469 7112.
