IN celebration of Mandela Day the Department of Correctional Services employees donated groceries to families in Horseshoe and Twistville with the assistance of Greater Kokstad Municipality officials on Tuesday.

The Department of Correctional Services Kokstad Management Area communications officer, Bonginkosi Mboshwa said employees collected the money among themselves.

“After we collected money from each employee, we bought the groceries to change lives. We also served soup to the people of Horseshoe,” said Mboshwa.

He said the Department of Correctional Service’s employees from Port Shepstone visited Ikhayalethu Home of Love and Care and donated sweets and cleaned the centre.

“Next week the department is to visit other places to change lives,” said Mboshwa.
