SHAYAMOYA High has one of the top netball teams in KZN and as a result Netball South Africa (NSA) president, Mimi Mthethwa promised to rally support to get the school a proper playing field.

On Wednesday Mthethwa visited the school accompanied by Claudine Claassen from NSA to motivate pupils and meet school management.

Speaking to the media she said the school showed dedication to the sport when the team participated in a tournament in Singapore last year.

“I discovered that the school has no sports facilities, so I will ask government and stakeholders to assist,” said Mthethwa.

Chairperson of the school governing body, Patrick Zweni was pleased with Mthethwa’s visit.
