The law has finally caught up with fugitive Tumelo David Mosala (35), who has been linked with serious crimes.
He has evaded arrest since 2016.
According to Brig. Motantsi Makhele, provincial police spokesperson, Mosala was arrested on Tuesday, 15 September, at a hideout in a block of flats in Brandwag, Bloemfontein.
He said the suspect has been on the run since 2016 after being arrested in connection with vehicle theft.
“Mosala was first arrested in Fouriesburg in 2016 for being in possession of a stolen vehicle. He stopped attending court hearings and a warrant of arrest was issued,” said Makhele.
The runaway suspect has since been linked with two incidents of violent crime, which occurred in Bloemfontein in June and July.
The first is a house robbery in Bainsvlei, for which his four alleged accomplices were arrested.
In the other case, video footage was obtained after a business robbery and attempted murder took place in Harvey Road in July.
“The owner was shot in the chest. The suspect and his friends fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash,” said Makhele.
“Further charges and cases are expected to be uncovered following his arrest.”
Mosala faces charges of business robbery, two charges of house breaking and theft and a charge of escaping from custody.
