‘Get your hands dirty’

The community of Bloemfontein is asked to get their hands dirty on Saturday (12/05) by taking part in the cleaning campaign run by the Shoprite Group’s Free State division.

This campaign aims to restore the image of the Bloemfontein Central Business District (CBD).

This weekend’s event will be the group’s third consecutive monthly clean-up of the CBD with the help of volunteers from the public. It strives to keep the city neat and aims to address environment challenges.

Stefan Gouws, divisional manager, has called on the community of Bloemfontein to participate actively in the clean-up campaign.

People willing to join the clean-up meet on Saturday at Hertzog Square, 8 President Brand Street at 07:00.

  • Anyone wishing to join the clean-up are asked to dial 051-410-7700 during business hours to ensure the provision of necessary cleaning items such as gloves, refuse bags and a mask. Future cleaning campaigns will be on 16 June, 18 July and 11 August.
