The Hawks are looking for information that could lead to the arrest of a suspect (photo) in connection with a cash heist in Kuruman.
It is reported that the suspect, together with an accomplice, arrived at the Fidelity Security Company’s cash depot in Kuruman last year.
Capt. Philani Nkwalase reveals that the duo pretended to be security guards from another cash in transit security company that was expected to collect cash for Cash Paymaster Services (CPS).
“They were allowed entry and were further allowed to make a pick-up of cash to the value of R9 000 000,” said Nkwalase.
“The theft was later discovered when the real security company vehicle arrived for the official pick-up.”
Members of the public are urged to assist in identifying the suspect. Contact the Hawks’ investigating officer, Capt. Marcus Mafaro, on 071-481-3417 or Crime Stop on 08600-10111.
