Man jailed for unlicensed gun

The Virginia Regional Court has cracked the whip on a Virginia man, Seleboho Jonas Motsumi (35), sentencing him to ten years direct imprisonment after he was found guilty for the possession of an unlicensed firearm.

He was convicted on 10 October after the court found him guilty in terms of section 121 of the Firearm Control Act 60 of 2000, for possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Motsumi was arrested on 13 July 2017 after the police acted swiftly upon receiving credible information. The police retrieved the gun in a bag he was carrying.
