The Bultfontein Regional Court has sentenced Sebuti Dintwe (20) to life imprisonment for raping a 21-year-old woman in September last year.
He was sentenced on 14 September after his conviction.
The court heard that Dintwe had forcefully taken the victim from a local tavern to two different shacks where he repeatedly raped her.
The accused confronted the victim upon arrival at the tavern at about 21:00 on 28 September.
The victim had gone to the tavern to look for her brother.
“Realising that her brother had left the tavern already, she decided to buy herself some drinks. Before she could even sit, an unknown man pulled her from behind and requested to talk to her, but she refused.
“The man dragged her outside the tavern and took her to two shacks where he raped her,” said Brig. Motantsi Makhele, provincial police spokesperson.
