THE two 2016 Interstate Bus Lines runs, the Sun-to-Sun 21,1 km half-marathon and the 10 km race, will take place in Thaba Nchu on Saturday (13/08).
This year’s is the fourth edition of the race organised by the Nedbank Fast Legs Running Club. Entry costs R90 for the 21,1 km and R70 for the 10 km. Both races will finish at the Mmabana Stadium in Thaba Nchu.
The main 21,1 km half-marathon will start at the Black Mountain Hotel, while the 10 km race will start at Blydskap Farm in Groothoek Dam.
The ten top athletes finishing the 21,1 km race will receive gold medals plus prize money. The winner in both the men’s and women’s category will receive R2 000, with the second and third place achievers taking home R1 500 and R1 000, respectively.
The 10 km winner, in both the men’s and women’s category, will get R500 plus gold medals, with the second and third place receiving R300 and R200 plus a silver and a bronze medal respectively.
A 10 km walk is also included. The winner in both the men’s and women’s section will receive R200 plus a gold medal. All races will be open for junior and senior athletes.
