Schools to benefit from Casual Day

The National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) invites schools to enter the Casual Day school competition.

This competition supports the fundraising annual Casual Day.

This year, schools will be able to raise funds for themselves for the first time. For each sticker they sell for R10, schools can to sell stickers They will be able to sell stickers for R10, and keep R2. The school that raises the most money wins R10 000.

“It is wonderful to extend the benefits of Casual Day to schools that often have trouble with their funding,” said Therina Wentzel, the national director.

Previously, only schools with children with disabilities have participated in this initiative.

Casual Day (1 September) is the largest fundraising event of its kind in the country, and is the NCPD’s principal funding activity. The NCPD is central to the well-being of more than 500 non-profit organisations, schools and national beneficiary organisations and annually support about 39 000 people directly and, indirectly, close to 3 million South Africans.
