Team craves maximum points

Bubchu United is gearing up for a local derby against Bloemfontein Celtic in the ABC Motsepe League and hopes to grab the top spot.

A share of the spoils in this fixture, to be played at the Westdene sport centre, will not be enough for United, as they need maximum points to unseat leaders Harmony FC. Only a point separates United and Harmony.

A defeat for Harmony will be to the benefit of Bloemfontein-based United, pending their result against tough local opponents Celtic, who are languishing in the relegation zone.

United are in title contention alongside Bloemfontein Young Tigers, Super Eagles and Tshiame All Stars, who have all thus far collected 25 points after 13 matches played in the first round.

Harmony are topping the league table with 27 points, with United in second place with 26 points. The two top-seeded teams are desperate for maximum points to remain in the running for the championship.
