A BABY boy, about three weeks old, was found in a forest on the outskirts of Greytown in November 2004.

The forest workers took this fragile little being, and a packet of clothes that were found next to him, to Greytown Hospital.

Coincidentally, that day Roxie Swart and a team from her church were visiting the children’s ward.

“I fell in love with him from the moment I saw him and as the days wore on and there was no progress made in tracking his mother I felt in my heart that we, as a family, were to take this precious little boy into our home as one of our own sons.

“We called him Jeremiah and one month later, the dream became reality as we took the 3.2kg baby home.

After a number of years’ delay the legal adoption finally came through in November 2014 – much to the joy of the family as they celebrated the wonderful news.

“I have always been concerned for the mother of this precious child and what she must have been going through at that stage of her life to be willing to give up her child.

“I am so grateful to the Lord that he opened the door for us to adopt this precious young baby and I want to tell you that he is the most amazing young man. He is kind and gentle and sensitive. He has just turned 11 and I have enjoyed every day that I have had the privilege of being his mother.

“Your son has been such a blessing in my husband and my life and I trust you will find some peace and comfort in knowing that he is much loved.”
