GREYTOWN COUNTRY CLUB

COME and spoil your Valentine at the club on Tuesday 14 February for our Valentine’s Day special - rib anc chicken combo served with salad or chips at R65 per person or mushroom on beef fillet served with three vegetables at R65 per person.
For the “long-time-lovers” or “golden oldies” you are welcome to take advantage of this special offer at lunch time.

A good field of 21 players played in the Mascor Monthly Mug League on Saturday 4 February. For a change the golfers were not complaining that a stiffish breeze was blowing, which made the heat bearable.
The effects of the dry spell and heat we have had during the last couple of weeks, coupled with very little water from our borehole due to the drought, are showing on our greens with brown patches here and there.
The winner of the Mug and B division was Egon Kassier with a wonderful 65 nett. Second in the B division was Tubby Larkan on 66 nett. With that score Tubby also won the Mug of Mugs for 2016/17.
A division first was John Mlangeni on 72 nett with Humphrey Msomi second on 76 nett. We remind our golfers of the Jaco Botha Memorial Golf Day being played on 18 February.
Jen’s Jug on Sunday 29 January hosted a full field, with Flip and Ronel Botha on 44 points once again the winners. Close on their heels in second place on a count out, also with 44, were Murray and Juanita Mason. Third place went to Tienie Muller and Liekie Steyn with 43.
Players, family and friends were treated to a great lunch prepared by Jack Mason and eats provided by the lady golfers. The ladies golf section thanks Holme Lacy Farms and the Mason family for their ongoing sponsorship. The Chivas raffle was aptly won by Murray Mason.

William Cooper lost out on the money as he was not present at the time of the draw. The next attendance draw will be on Friday 10 February with R1 500 up for grabs. Be here from 6.30pm and you could be the lucky winner.

The 9@9 entry fee for golf on a Sunday morning is R50. Thank you to Umvoti Fuel & Oil for sponsoring the chicken. Richard Cyrus won the chicken on Sunday with 19 points.
