Greytown Country Club news

WE had a very busy weekend at the club - Happy Hour on Friday and Wembley golf on Saturday.

Starting with the Happy Hour winners, also a fluke of note, both winners were husband and wife. Aaron Marinus and Michelle Powell took home the money and the Chivas. Nadine Fouche and Jackie Chapman won the consolation prizes. Thank you to Leon Taljaard for sponsoring the meal and for including us in celebrating his 60th birthday.

Wembley Golf Day once again was a huge success with 72 golfers playing. Thank you to Dieter Meyer and his PA team for the efforts in making this day a success. The winners were M. Msomi and B. Zuma on 47 points. Second was R. Tarr and D. Pieterse with 45 points.

The next three slots had the same score and were counted out - M. Caldicott and S. Muna, T. Muller and M. Muller, R. Misselhorn and R. Jeffery all ended on 44 points.

Mascor Monthly mug and business league is playing on Saturday 3 September. Captains please get your team ready and enter this competition. Tee-off starts from 10.30am.

Something to look forward to is our "Cook Off" Competition on Saturday 17 September. Potjie, braai, Weber or spit, whatever your heart's desire, as long as it is cooked on fire or gas at the Greytown Country Club.

Bring your ingredients and cook for your friends and family. Food will be judged by 4pm. Jan Swart, The Last Musketeer, will be entertaining us with live music.

Vicky the clown will be here to entertain the children with face painting and balloons. Entry for the competition is free. Food will be sold after judging at R20 per person. Contact Elmarie at the club on 033 417 2441 for details and and entry.

The next attendance draw will be on Friday with R400 up for grabs. The next Spar boerie run is on Saturday 10 September.
