SATURDAY’S race from Bloemhof was flown in perfect weather. Liberated at 8 a.m. the first arrival was clocked at 14.28 p.m. to the Naicker’s loft to record a velocity of 1328.757 metres per minute.They also clocked the next two arrivals at 14.56 and 15.50 to gain velocities of 1239.609 and 1095.625mpm
Popping up in fourth position was none other than the Old Grizzle who managed to beat Chris Uys for the first time this season. His bird arrived at 15.54 p.m. to record a velocity of 1086.562.
Then there was a gap until the brothers clocked at 16.05 and 16.40m with velocities of 1062.268 and 990.467.At 17.03 Chris Uys’s pigeon made an appearance to record the final velocity of 949.164 for the day
Next week the liberation will be from Kimberley, a distance of 575kms.
Now for some good news - Attie Joubert is home again and on the road to recovery although he is very weak, but being the man he is, will soon be up and about. All the fanciers from Pietermaritzburg wish you well and look forward to your recovery.
