ON Saturday April 21, Greytown Junior’s U11 side travelled to Pietermaritzburg and played against Clarendon. This being the first game of the season, the boys gained much needed field play and experience, unfortunately the side lost 10-0.
Greytown Junior’s U13 side also played against Clarendon. The game was intense with both sides trying to get ahead. Greytown scored two early tries and Clarendon one by the end of the first half. The final score was 37-5 in Greytown’s favour.
Try scorers were Nthando Makhaye, Aphiwe Nzimakwe and Nkosenhle Nkazimulo.
The U10 side also played against Clarendon. The boys played poorly and lost to Clarendon. Lots of work needs to be done.
On April 20 six hockey girls travelled to Dundee to take part in the Umzinyathi trials.
Bianca Vermaak was chosen for the U13 team and Andiswa Myaka was chosen for the U12 team.
These girls will go on to participate in the Inland trials later in May.
On April 21 the U13 hockey girls participated in the hockey festival at Wembley College.
The girls played very well and enjoyed their games.
