GREYTOWN born and educated, Mahommed Moorad returns to his roots for his first appearance in his home town.
Better known to local TV and international audiences as Mo Magic, Moorad will be performing on Saturday, October 27 at 7 pm at the Greytown Community Centre to raise much-needed funds for the Greytown Child Welfare.
After matriculating from Greytown Secondary School, where he served as head prefect, Mo left Greytown to pursue his aptitude for science and technology. It was while studying engineering at the University of KwaZulu-Natal Durban campus that his interest in the entertainment world was sparked.
“I saw magician David Blaine performing his street magic TV show. Although I had seen it three years prior to this occasion, I had dismissed it as camera tricks. However, that night, something inside me shifted. I knew immediately that I wanted to entertain and astonish people with magic,” he explained.
Over the years, the aspirant magician’s intention to merely entertain evolved into a desire to spread joy, delight and inspire his audiences. To achieve this he combines his world-class magical acts, mystifying mind reading, and family friendly comedy to encourage others to follow their dreams and consciously choose the quality of life they want to live.
Since 2010, Mo has been bringing joy to people as an entertainer and he could not be happier.
He has served as the brand ambassador for the Durban and District Child Welfare for the last few years, using his life story to inspire and encourage the youth to seek their purpose in life, strive towards personal growth and excellence despite past experiences.
“We can consciously choose the quality of life we want to experience. Our past experiences do not dictate our future,” is the encouraging message he imparts.
