SATURDAY, 14 November was World Diabetes Day. It is sobering to think that Africa is expected to have the greatest increase in diabetes worldwide in the next century, with predictions that the current number of 14.7 million incidences on the continent will nearly double by 2030 (International Diabetes Federation).

On Friday, Pannar marked this important day throughout all its offices in Africa with all staff wearing something blue.
For Greytown Pannar, it had a special significance - Kiara, daughter of staff member Lisa van der Linden, was diagnosed with diabetes in 2013 and this amazing 10-year-old acts as an ambassador for children with this chronic illness. Pannar is there in support of Kiara's mission and all of those affected by diabetes.
