FORMER assistant coach of the Dynamos FC Mfundo Dlamini joined Arsenal FC.
Dlamini, who has been a loyal member of the Dynamos FC, jumped into bed with their opponents on Sunday, August 18.
Dlamini’s addition to the team is perceived as a blessing as their coach left the team recently.
Founder of the team Thandi Mthembu confirmed that Dlamini was signed to the side on Sunday.
“He will assist us in the SAB League, and I am pleased to have a person of his calibre for the management of the team. He was recruited based on the sterling work that he has been doing at Dynamos FC. We are optimistic that he will continue injecting new skills into our club,” Mthembu said.
Dlamini said: “My duty at the club was to work with the management of the team. I had been very instrumental in the process of sourcing out qualified players for the club. The team even went to the play-offs in Port Shepstone early this year. Arsenal approached me and asked to assist the club,” Dlamini said.
“I am happy in Arsenal. I would like to thank the chairperson of the Dynamos FC, Zamani Dlamini, for giving me the opportunity. I am also pleased to have worked with the team’s head coach, Mlamuli Zuma,” Dlamini added.
Zuma confirmed Dlamini’s resignation, adding that the management of the team was shocked when he resigned.
“It was such short notice. We were not expecting it, however we wish him all the best in his new adventure. The team is in the process of signing another assistant coach who will replace him,” Zuma added.
