THREE people had a narrow escape last Wednesday morning when the driver lost control as he cornered at the top of Durban Street.
The car skidded to the far side and bounced across the road finally coming to a halt destroying a garden wall in the process. Two of the men were injured, but not seriously.
The accident occurred just after 8am, and miraculously there were no children walking to school and no other vehicle on the road.
Residents in the area said that speed humps are urgently needed - many drivers come down Durban Street at speed and there are usually pupils walking up and down the road.
A witness told the Greytown Gazette there was half a bottle of vodka and cups on the ground alongside the smashed car.
Traffic officials and family members, were quickly on the scene and the debris was quickly cleared up.
A case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened.
