THE Umshwathi Municipality has received funding from the LG Seta to train over 1 400 youth in various learnership programmes:

Local economic development (209 students)

Disaster risk management (50)

Community health water and sanitation (280) Supervision of construction processes (210)

Community house-building (210) Landscaping (210) Horticulture (210)
Municipal IDP (28) These learnerships aim to empower the community and youth with knowledge and experience. Students will receive a stipend of R1 800 for the duration of the learnerships of eight to 12 months.
