A BRAND new fleet of vehicles worth more than a million rand was officially handed over to the uMzinyathi District Municipality on Wednesday, February 10. The new vehicles will be used to deliver services to the communities under uMzinyathi District.
Spokesperson for the municipality Nomonde Nzimakwe said: “The uMzinyathi District Municipality Council is excited about the purchase of the new fleet of vehicles as the district will stop renting cars which have cost the municipality R531 000.00 a month.
“The provision of municipal services must be cost-efficient for the district to deliver quality services to all its residents. The district is in the process of reducing the use of consultants that perform municipal functions in an effort to reduce unnecessary expenditure,” she said.
