WEMBLEY College would like to congratulate the academic top achievers for 2016:

Form 2 – Kaden Moonsamy 89.18%

Form 3 – CG Nefdt 91.88%

Form 4 – Georgia Brown 92.28%

Form 5 – Ross Goble 83.60%

The Grade Rs discussed the concepts of tall and short during their Grade R measurement lesson. We were visited by our tallest member of staff, Mr Labuschagne and decided that perhaps he was almost double Emma’s height. Many of the Grade Rs decided that their parents are still busy growing taller and have been challenged to go home and discover the truth for themselves. We hope that Mr Labuschagne does not grow much taller or he won’t fit through the door.

The Grade 4 and Form 1 orientation afternoon took place last Friday. The main focus was to welcome the Grade 4s to the phase in an informal manner. We had lots of fun activities starting with a treasure hunt. Activities also included war cries, advertisements, musical statues, building towers, cross the river and many other fun games. Well done to the Form 1s for planning and overseeing the games.

Thank you to the Form 6 class for organising a fun-filled and successful camp at Imbabala Game Lodge. The activities were done with the purpose of getting to know one another and having fun at the same time.

Activities ranged from putting on frozen T-shirts, water balloon fights, tug of war, duster hockey, Oreo cookie tower building, crawling through mud pits, tribal art, egg roulette and much more. Everyone had a great time, and even the teachers got involved in some of the activities.

Wembley College would also like to welcome our new pupils to the high school phase.
