Dog Food Dude - paying it forward advertorial

THE Dog Food Dude situated in the Sugarloaf Centre in Hillcrest has become a household name in the Highway area.

They are known for their wide variety of treats (biltong bones, dried and smoked treats) and their excellent home delivery service which is free. They are now introducing a ‘PAY-IT-FORWARD’ system.

How does it work?

A little while ago one of our customers went on a trip to the USA and while there went to a pizza restaurant. When paying for her meal she was asked is she wanted to ‘PAY-IT-FORWARD’. Intrigued she asked what it was – basically when buying a pizza you pay a little more and in turn the restaurant sets aside a slice for the homeless and throughout the day the needy come in and out and are given something to eat.

She found out that this is quite a norm there, be it for a cup of coffee, a sandwich or a bowl of soup.

She suggested we try this with our dog food where people can pay anything from R5 and up to any amount they wish to, then in turn we will accumulate the donations towards a bag of food that we will deliver to the SPCA.

This will be done in a very transparent way and once we have enough for a bag or two of food (dog or cat) we will deliver the food with a card from DFD with a list of the names (if people would like to leave their name and number)of the various people that have so kindly contributed to it. This will give it a personal touch and we can even throw in some treats for the dogs.

So next time you are needing some dog food please give us a shout. Either for a FREE home delivery in the Highway area or pop into our shop. We carry a variety of foods – Royal Canin, Vets Choice, Montego, Top Dog, etc. As well as a lovely variety of dried and smoked treats – Ostrich, Beef and pork.
