HILLCREST SAPS members Constable Mathews and Constable Mhlongo went beyond the call of duty last week when they removed a 2,5-metre python from KwaNgcolosi area at the Maphanga family’s home.

Constable Ndumiso Manqele said the family living at the home contacted the police as they were terrified of the snake in their yard.
"The police went beyond their duty and rescued the python and it was taken to the Phezulu Snake Park, alive,” he said.

Hillcrest SAPS acting station commander commended the good work done by the members in ensuring that Hillcrest residents are safe at all times.
