IN spite of mist and miserable weather, scores of Upper Highway residents stood in solidarity to fight crime by being part of the Waterfall Run, which took place on Sunday, September 23.

Organiser of the event Sizwe Ncalane, from Inanda Qadi, said that everything came together as planned because the community didn’t let them down, even though the weather was a bit of problem.

“The athletes came in numbers to support even though the weather wasn’t so good and we are very excited for that because it shows that the community is coming together to fight against a very important thing in our communities — crime,” Ncalane said.

Ncalane thanked everyone who came to support the event, saying: “Everyone who was able to make it, we really appreciate it and we hope to achieve even more the following year.”
